We'd like you to meet our BRIO Show Choir Conductor, Candace Gould.

Candace is an Omaha based Private Vocal Coach, Actress, and Performer. Over the past 10 years she has devoted most of her time teaching students of all ages how to find their voice through classes and private voice lessons. She has actively served in the Music Ministry at her local church her whole life as well, where she currently leads as the Minister of Music. On a sunday, you can find her leading the Praise and Worship team, Choir, working with the musicians, and heading up the Praise Dance team. Church ministry is a family affair, and her local church is pastored by her dad, with her mother and brother involved in music as well.

Even though she keeps very busy with work and various projects, she has never lost her love for performance.

In 2022 she made her debut back into theater when she starred in Giraffes Can’t Dance and The SpongeBob Musical as Sandy Cheeks, both at the Rose Theater. Her most prominent role theatrical was as Lorrell Robinson in the Omaha Community Playhouse's production of "Dreamgirls". In September of 2023, she performed on stage with Kim Burrell, and is very active as a vocalist in her church body and various outside music events. Her featured solo for the song "Operator" at our 2024 MKS Spring Concert blew us all away! We are blessed to have Candace and all her talents with us at MKS Studio.

Come see Candace and the students of BRIO Show Choir perform at their premiere showcase THIS coming Monday at 6pm at Divine Shepherd Lutheran Church. We hope to see you there!

As worship leaders, many of us are always looking at other teams to get new songs , learn new things. While this is a good thing, be careful not to start idolizing other teams that you see.

When I was writing this post, I almost wrote “let’s not idolize the teams of the “large” churches so much…” but then I realized, we shouldn’t be idolizing them at all.

It’s okay if you like what you see and desire to have that for your team. However, it’s easy to get caught up and begin expecting your team to do what you see others doing, rather than understanding the assignment that was given to you and them for your congregation.

We also don’t want to neglect to appreciate what your team is doing. The time they are sacrificing to learn and practice the songs. The vulnerability it takes to sing in front of thers. The time away from their families. It’s hard enough to feel as though you aren’t the best singer, but even harder when you’ll never be good enough for your own.

Appreciate where you are planted and do what you have been called to do.

Lead.

As a Worship Leader it’s about ministry. Serving. So serve your people. Love your people.

Don’t cancel me lol Hear me out!🙈

I know many of us singers love this drink. I hear singers talk about it quite often. And usually the discussion around it starts with how the drink is needed to help their singing voice.

I’m not saying you should stop drinking it, but just remember that what you get from that is just temporary relief. It’s nothing that will sustain a healthy voice nor will it bring a hoarse voice back.

What I am trying to say is NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING will ever replace resting your voice and practicing good vocal hygiene.

..what we accomplish🏆
..the fruit we produce 🍇 (or the lack thereof)😬
..and most importantly how we see ourselves👀

Be open to finding the right people for your tribe.

Be open to meeting people outside of the people you thought were the right ones.

Be open to the right people being right under your nose, too.

But also....

Be picky. Be selective. Be discerning. Be watchful. Be prayerful.

Hi, everyone! I have some new followers and so l I'm so excited about it! Welcome to my community. I am so glad that you joined!

My name is Candace Michelle. I am a Worship leader and a Private Voice Coach. In other words, I'm just a gal who is journeying through this thing called life who loves Jesus, loves to worship and has a passion to help others.

Since so many of you are new here I thought I'd tell you a few random things about me.

1. I love to laugh! I love making people laugh with me, too 😂 But I'm also okay laughing but myself 🤭

2. I'm an Auntie of 10 and furmom to one Jack Russell Terrier mix named Loki(named after the Marvel character🤷🏾‍♀️)

3. I love being active. So you'll see me in the gym a lot in my stories 🏋🏾‍♀️💪🏾
