A group from our Fremont day site took advantage of a beautiful day by playing putt putt golf. Shout out to the owner of Putting Plus for opening early for Duet! After hitting the greens, they enjoyed a picnic lunch. It was a great way to spend the day together.

It’s been a busy week at our Bellevue day site, the Hub.

One group put their artistic skills to work creating fabric garland. Another group spent a morning enjoying music from the U.S. Air Force Band at the SumTur Amphitheater. Whether crafting indoors or listening to music out in the community, there was something fun for everyone!

Our Happenings day location has been keeping busy! Over the past couple of weeks, they’ve enjoyed sweet treats at Baker’s Candy, coffee and time at different parks, a trip to the mall, exploring Lauritzen Gardens, checking out Joslyn Museum, and a fun day at the zoo! A group of people we support in Fremont participated in the 2026 Special Olympics Golf Tournament in Lincoln. The Unified State Golf event included 3-hole team play and individual skills competitions. Teams are made up of athletes and partners, and the Fremont contingent was really in the swing of things.

Taylor and Cory won gold, while Josh and Andy earned bronze in their respective 3-hole events. James also brought home a bronze medal in the chipping and putting skills competition, and Brad competed in the 9-hole division.

A group of nursing and respiratory therapy students from Nebraska Methodist recently spent time at our Happenings day location. The experience helped students better understand the importance of providing whole-person care and learning from others as they continue to grow as health care professionals.

Nebraska Methodist Professor Sarah Lewis-Rasby shared, "Thank you to everyone at Duet who welcomed us and allowed us to spend time with some incredible people! We were able to slow down, enjoy our time, and build meaningful connections with new friends. Thank you for sharing this experience with us!"
