⚡️ The Light Space at KANEKO is an ongoing project that will take on many different forms. Digital artists, software developers, sound engineers, and students will take part in developing a repertoire of environmental experiences.

Its current exhibit, R E S T, was designed by David Carney and Jon Pitts. Designed with safety in mind, R E S T is a hands-free installation, controlled by distanced foot pedals that trigger instruments along with microphones to pick up both the sounds created by the experience and the reactions of the people playing with it.

KANEKO⚡️Flashback - Therman Statom has always been a large driving force within KANEKO’s educational programming and community outreach. The entrance to Statom’s exhibit is a giant glass wall that will remain at KANEKO semi-permanently to designate our newly expanded education space, but even that massive structure will change; the colors, found objects, and stories within will be moved, replaced or added.

Our educational programming is tailored to each exhibition. We explore exhibition themes by implementing STEAM investigation through our educational offerings: Field Trips, Out of School Days, Art Academy, Creative Catalyst, and Creative Camps.
