Wallace & Gromit: The Classic Shorts arrive at the Capitol Theater on September 6 🦴

Back on the big screen for the first time in ages! Aardman's beloved duo of clueless inventor Wallace and his wise, world-weary dog companion Gromit first took the world by storm in this trio of sweetly absurd Oscar-winning shorts by visionary animator Nick Park.

Full of stunning filmmaking and design, clever writing and deep emotional beats, this timeless program of claymation is for the kid in us all.

Joel Astley performs live at the Boston Harbor Marina on September 12

Our friends at Boston Harbor Marina are providing a relaxing and beautiful setting for this special Olympia Film Society fundraiser. Enjoy an afternoon of live music featuring award-winning blues harmonica player Joel Astley, blues guitarist Johnny Burgin, and local blues rock favorites Fishtrap, all set against breathtaking views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains.

It all happens at 4pm - with free admission (donations encouraged!)

All proceeds benefit OFS and its mission to present film, music, and art that engages our community, encourages volunteerism, and ensures the preservation of the Capitol Theater.

Seattle-based Joel Astley is a multi-award-winning singer, songwriter, and harmonica player. He and his band have collected numerous accolades from the Washington Blues Society, among other regional and national societies. They deliver a high-energy, engaging show, blending sparkling originals with select classic cuts from roots rock, blues, funk, soul, Americana, and rockabilly. They tour regularly and have performed and/ or headlined many festivals throughout the Pacific Northwest. They are currently working on a new album and are set to record next month.

A rarely screened 35mm print of Keep Your Powder Dry (1945) opens at the Capitol Theater on September 17

This little-seen gem from the golden age of MGM features a never-better Lana Turner; a punctilious, no-nonsense Laraine Day; and a lovelorn Susan Peters. When the aforementioned three join the Women's Army Corps, comedic frictions emerge.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show screens at the Capitol Theater on October 3 🫦

Riff Raff's Street Rats, the premiere Rocky Horror shadowcast of the Pacific Northwest, returns to the Olympia Film Society to "Thrill you, Chill you, and Fulfill you!"

Join us as we celebrate the life and artistry of Tim Curry with new and old friends alike!

Riff Raff's Street Rats is an all-inclusive volunteer theater production that uses over half their performances to raise money for nonprofits across the NW.

11pm doors and midnight show!

The Invincible Czars return to the Capitol Theater to perform a live, original score to F.W. Murnau's Faust (1926) 😈

It all happens on September 8 at 8pm

The Invincible Czars brand new electrifying score and soundtrack marries new and old, incorporating both classical and modern instruments like flute, violin and electric guitar.

"Faust" tells the story of an elderly alchemist who makes a pact with the devil to gain the power to protect his village from plague.
