We wanted to share some news about one of our Lincoln Options community’s most beloved traditions. After much reflection, and with a lot of care, we’ve decided to try something new for this year’s Winter Market by reimagining it as the Lincoln Student Makers Market.
We will not host our traditional community vendor market, but will instead put the spotlight entirely on our students. There will be student vendors, our fifth-grade bake sale, arts and crafts activities, the Lincoln Community Band, and a student art show curated by our awesome art teacher Rose!
The Winter Market has meant so much to all of us and we understand that some may feel disappointed by our shift. Please know this decision wasn’t made lightly.
As a parent volunteer-led group, it’s become increasingly challenging to organize such a large-scale event with the limited time and resources we have. This shift is our way of continuing to celebrate the arts and build community - two things that are very important to us at Lincoln.
We’re treating this year as a new chapter, and after the event, we’ll take time to reassess what makes the most sense for 2026. If there’s interest and energy around bringing back the full winter market experience, we’d be open to explore that, especially in partnership with community members who are passionate about helping it thrive.
This year’s event is still open to the whole community, and we would absolutely LOVE for you to join us in celebrating the creativity of our Student Makers. We hope to see you there! 💛
