Join Olympia FIlm Society for a special screening of the cult classic, Pink Floyd’s The Wall with a live shadowcast! 1982’s “The Wall” is a psychological musical film about a rock star “Pink”, who descends into madness after a life filled with trauma, which he represents as building a metaphorical “wall” around himself. The film, a cinematic adaptation of Pink Floyd’s 1979 album, uses minimal dialogue, relying instead on a mix of live-action, animation, and music to serve as a deep dive into themes of trauma, consumerism, authoritarianism, and fascism, and how these elements can separate individuals from one another. Leaving us all just “bricks in the wall.” See the film like you never have before with a live shadowcast performing all of the music, live, alongside this iconic film.

We're absolutely heartbroken to learn of the passing of Stacy Hicks. Stacy was a StoryOly supporter from the very beginning. She served as our door person and generously took photographs during our first several Grand Slams. Everyone who knew Stacy knew of her deep commitment to community, family, and friends. See will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Join us for the season 11 opener of StoryOly! When Elizabeth and I were picking this years themes we thought Bad Life Choices would be a fun one since we always tell the StoryOly judges to not judge the tellers on their "bad life choices". But this time they will! But only if those choices make a good story 😜

Just a reminder that there is no story slam in October. We always take the month of October off so Elizabeth can focus on the Vaudeville show. We'll see everyone next month for the kick off of season 11!
