In an effort to nurture our obsession, we've set out to create the most awesome Christmas light display in Olympia. If you don't think we're there yet - don't worry, we have lots of plans for expansion. In 2019, Oly Lightstravaganza featured nearly 100,000 lights on well over 600 strings that came in at least 50 types, sizes and colors, powered by nearly 100 extension cords. Oly Lightstravaganza's

story begins in the 1990's on Olympia's Westside, where a young Luke engaged in friendly competition with his mom's neighbor for the most awesome Christmas light display on Calais Lane. Fast forward to 2004, when Luke met Whitney, who discovered and encouraged his Christmas light madness. Oly Lightstravaganza grew for several years at it's second location, Luke and Whitney's Eastside Olympia home on 9th Avenue. In 2009, having pondered expanding the light display to the neighbor's house across the street or moving, Luke and Whitney decided to build a new house on a larger lot, and Oly Lighstravaganza's current location was born.

Happy Holidays, Friends!

Just a reminder that Oly Lightstravaganza is permanently closed - our family has moved and we will not be hosting a public display at our new digs. If you venture by our 10th Avenue house please be sure to leave the current residents be, they appreciate their privacy!

Our former neighbors at New Bridge Community Church are still putting up lights and hosting events, so follow them and swing by their place!

As well, our neighbors up at Wilson Street Winter Wonderland are still doing their thang, so follow them and stop on by - they have the cutest little shop and a super cool display, you may even recognize some relics handed down from Olylights. They are right close to Eastside Big Tom, which offers free hot cocoa during the winter season! We also recommend our buddies over at 713 North Street by Oly High, they do a great display for Christmas (some Olylights hand me downs there as well!) and other seasons, too! Lastly, ThurstonTalk.com always puts out a list of good light hot spots, so be sure to peruse that when it comes out.

Wilson St Winter Wonderland will have its lights on through Mon Jan 1st then we are shutting them down.. We are also going to open the shop tonight and tomorrow night for anyone that wants to come take a look... Before I pack everything up... Hours are 5-10 ea night we just ask that you don't block neighbors driveways and please don't come after hours... Address is 424 Wilson st se Olympia 98501

See this guy? This is Luke, the quiet mastermind behind Oly Lightstravaganza. He's the one who makes all the twinkling magic happen, he is the visionary. I just work here and make friends on Facebook and Instagram.

Luke never asks for anything. And boy do I mean never. But I'm learning to ask for help! And I know he'd LOVE LOVE LOVE a crew to help take down lights on Saturday, January 6th. It comes down super quick! One day with a crew and we are golden.
