"Everyone recognized that this organization is special and unique for Olympia"

Good news! Latina K Presents is a recipient of the 24-26 fiscal year's Inspire Olympia impact fund!

The City of Olympia continues believing in our mission. When I read the above quoted feedback from the review panel I knew we were doing something right. The fact that the city believes in what we do is huge, it is something I would have never dreamed of 20 years ago when I arrived to this country and made Olympia my permanent home.

When I watched the May 2 meeting where they made the funding recommendations (they didn't list the organizations then), I knew which org was mine because of the oddly specific amount of money I requested. I was still cautiously optimistic after the city council voted to pass the measure, until I got the acceptance letter this morning! Now I can really shout it from the rooftop..... It's official! Though I'm not getting the full amount I requested, I'm still getting 75% of it. This means the seven shows (five Azúcar and two Spoilers) I have planned for the next fiscal year are a good chunk funded! I CAN BREATHE.

To say I'm happy, relieved, excited, especially for the future of Azúcar, is an understatement. I just know that this funding will make things a lot easier. Grateful for the people that I surround myself with, that have been supporters from the start doesn't begin to describe it. Your encouragement behind the scenes is so important to me, to all of us.

There's more to come, so here's to another year! 🥂

💫What is time, but a collection of future memories💫

What a beautiful show we had! We came, we saw what we are capable of, and saved the world with our brilliance.

We showed the audience what we are made of, that it's ok to dream, and it's even better to dream big. That our minds are an endless well of magnificent imagination, and our bodies a vessel for magical storytelling.

Thank you everyone who came along for this ride, for dreaming big with me, for putting your absolute best on that stage.

To the crew, wow. Thank you so much for your smart work to keep the gears turning.

I'm surrounded by brilliant humans. Because this is what being alive is!

✨ PERFORMER SPOTLIGHT ✨

💙Welcome back Vanessa the Witch!

💙Equal parts cats and magic, this Cuban mama was born on a Saturday night in Hollywood, CA. She has been performing for 20+ years in many different incarnations including singing, acting, dancing, film, & improv comedy, and has worked offstage as a choreographer, producer, stage manager, theater tech & admin. Currently, she produces Olympia's first Improv Burlesque show Strip! at the Crypt! with Ms. Hattie Hotpants, and 1/3 of the all Latinx performance trio Papaya Magic Cabaret with Dulce D’Jour & Latina K. Turner D’Ho. She also collaborates musically and otherwise with many talented performers in the PNW!
