Ed NoiseCat will be leading a 4 day workshop November 22, 2026-November 25, 2026 on Coast Salish rattle making. Students will design and carve their own rattles. The workshop will be 10 AM to 4 PM each day. Lunch will be provided.

Fall class in the House of Welcome carving studio. You do not have to be a degree seeking student to enroll in the class. You can take this 4 credit class a special student. Navajo Nation Museum’s newest exhibit highlights & celebrates Master Silversmith Eugene Ross & Students from NNM’s 2025 Silversmith Workshop. Check out their works of art, hear from Mr. Ross & students about their experience & updates! The workshop was in collaboration with Mesa Community College and Evergreen's House of Welcome.

The exhibit opening is free to attend and refreshments will be provided.

Applications open August 25 for the Native Creative Development Program™.

We invite Tribal-enrolled visual artists in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington to apply for funding to deepen their artistic practice and create new work.

Individual Artist Projects: up to $5,000

Build on your existing artistic practice by refining techniques, exploring materials, or developing cultural knowledge while creating new work.

Mentorship Projects: up to $10,000

Work with a Native master artist or teaching artist to learn specific skills, techniques, or cultural practices while creating new work. Interested in applying? Email [email protected] to request an application packet.

The House of Welcome supports arts workshops and residencies in Tribal communities. We provide coverage for teaching artist fees, art supplies, meals for workshop/residency participants. The program is overseen by Linley Logan, Seneca.

Typically the support for a workshop is about $6,000 but we have a bit of flexibility. Our geographic region includes Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Washington and Alaska. Our focus is on customary arts-whatever that means to the community! Some examples include Fort Peck Tribes, Shoshone Bannock, Colville, Kalispel, Salish Kootenai, Warm Springs, Confederated Tribe of Coos-Lower Umpqua-Siuslaw.

This year will include Old Harbor Village in Alaska. If you have been wondering how to cover the costs for a workshop of any length of time and pay your master artists, reach out to us [email protected]

This is our call for vendors for the annual House of Welcome Holiday Art Market. The market will be held on December 11-12, 2026.

We are a bit busy right now and so please e-mail [email protected] to indicate your interest by September 1, 2026.

We won't be making any reservations via messenger or on Facebook.

Fee is $100 for this 2 day market. Space is a 6 ft banquet table and 2 chairs. Space is limited, but artists can bring a small additional table and the display stands they need to showcase their work.
