A community request from BOP's founder:

Friends, I recently joined the board of Creative Theatre Experience (CTE). If you're not familiar, they are a non-profit summer theater program for kids.

When I joined, I learned that COVID had decimated both our financial stability, and our leadership ranks.

Currently, we have not raised enough money this year to continue operations next year. While the gap is small, that's a scary truth, and we need to start next year with more stability.

We are currently looking for board members and community sponsors. If you're interested in either of both, please contact me directly, I'd love to talk to you!

Also, if you have young ones in Thurston County, check out Creative Theatre Experience (CTE) or ctekids.org!

A Statement from BOP founder and Oly Theater co-founder, Kyle Murphy:

The era Broadway Olympia HQing at the Capital Mall is coming to a sudden and unexpected end.

On Friday, July 26th, the Board of Directors of Theater Artists Olympia, which operates Oly Theater, and of which I am a member, received notice that our lease agreement with the Capital Mall was being terminated. Our agreement had always fallen under a special “temporary” category, a clause which allowed the mall to offer us extremely favorable terms, but which also meant that a permanent tenant could and might replace us at some point. After 6 years, a permanent tenant has been found. This is a direct result of the mall's resurgence in popularity, which, in and of itself, is a good thing for our local business community, and for local residents/shoppers.

At this time, all future programming is on indefinite hiatus until we find a new home. We'll be vacating the space within the next 10 days.

We would like to thank the Capital Mall for their years of support. Without their willingness to partner with us, we never would have existed in the first place.

And now, we, along with TAO, and Juice Box Theater, seek a new partner… a new home.
