Our Academy for Dramatic Arts seeks to offer quality experiences in the performing arts for every child regardless of income, culture, background, experience, previous training or talent. This fall, AFDA presents Matilda the Musical - a story about the power of imagination, the magic found in chosen family, and the courage to stand up for what you believe in.

We’re looking for students in grades 4–12 to bring this extraordinary story to life. If you’re ready to find your courage, raise your voice, and RISE, we want to see you at auditions!

The stories we’ll tell this season are of people finding their strength, discovering what they’re capable of, reaching for something more, and rising to meet whatever comes next.

They are the stories that inspire each of us to keep looking ahead at what is possible, to become something more magical than we ever imagined, and to rise. Together.

Because we believe there is always more ahead - more to discover, more to create, more to become. And this season, we’re ready to see just how high we can RISE.

RISE: AFDA’s 2026–2027 Theatrical Season.

Tomorrow at 3:00 PM, we’ll reveal where our first journey will take us and audition registration will open for those ready to RISE with us.

🌅 TO THE WORLD WE DREAM ABOUT, AND THE ONE WE LIVE IN NOW.

This season reminded us just how much young artists can carry, create, and accomplish together.

From monsters to muses to music down below, we traveled across time and worlds telling three unforgettable stories on our stages.

To everyone who helped make this season possible, in big ways and small: we cannot thank you enough.

To our families and audiences who bought tickets, t-shirts, buttons, lemonades, chocolates, cotton candy, and so many bags of popcorn: your incredible generosity make all of this possible.

To our staff, crew, and board: your dedication and support of these kids and this theater are incomparable. Thank you for believing in AFDA, this community, and carrying our theater forward, one show at a time.

And to our artists: your integrity, character, talent, persistence, commitment, and perseverance inspire all of us every day.

Thank you.

And now, it’s time to say goodbye to this season and prepare for a new one to rise.

We brought our epic season to a close with Hadestown: Teen Edition - a story about love, hope, resilience, and the choice to keep believing even when the odds are against you.

This cast reminded us that sometimes strength looks like showing up, standing together, and believing in something bigger than yourself.

To our artists, crew, staff, volunteers, and audiences who helped bring this story, and this season, to life: thank you.

We kicked off an epic season with gods, half-bloods, a whole bunch of monsters, and one unforgettable quest.

The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical was where our story began.

Now, as we say goodbye to this season, we’re looking back at the moments that made it unforgettable.

Thank you again to everyone who made Hadestown: Teen Edition such a success - our incredible cast, staff, crew, board, friends, families, and everyone who bought a ticket to ride the train to the end of the line. We raise our cups to you!

Tonight, we raise our cups to the incredible cast of Hadestown: Teen Edition, to the amazing directors, dedicated staff and crew, extraordinary volunteers, and to everyone who bought a ticket to board the train to the Underworld.

Congratulations for a sold out run and an unforgettable performance! We miss you already.

🌾 If you ain’t six feet underground, you’re livin’ it up on top.

The winters are long with Persephone gone, the cupboards are bare, and the pull of the underground grows stronger each day. But for tonight, you’ll still be able to see our townsfolk livin’ it up on top.

Night Four of our sold out train ride to Hadestown: Teen Edition departs tonight at 7:00.
