The postings on my Open HeART Studio page have been very few for a while now. I haven't done much long arm quilting in the past 18 months. It's time to update everything, and share my new studio. 😊
I gave my studio its' name in 2010. I wanted the name to mean something special to me. "Open HeART" means that I will always be open to learning new things, and open to being inspired by everything around me, and open to what ever change comes to my life.....and all the while creating beautiful ART.
At that time, (Fall 2010), the studio was in a 9' X 10' extra bedroom (1st photo below). I used that room for about a year, and loved working in there and spending many hours there.
In June of 2011, I bought my first longarm quilting machine, Lily the Gammill. We moved my studio to the master bedroom. (2nd photo below). It was 12.5' X 14', so there wasn't much space to move around, and I tripped many times, but I loved working in that special room and doing customer quilts there for the next three years.
Our house was small, but it was a two story, so we decided that we would sell it, buy a one story house, and build a studio. We spent the year of 2015 making that happen. I sold my longarm to make the process easier, we sold our house, bought our cottage😊, and built my studio onto the back of the new house. The build was completed in November of 2015, and the inside was completed in February of 2016.
I bought my new longarm machine, Hazel the Innova, in December of 2015. I. LOVE. THIS. MACHINE. It stitches beautifully, it's smooth, quiet, precise, the company is a dream to work with and the customer support is the BEST ever!!! My wonderful dealer is Jeff Benedict from Accomplish Quilting.
I have not been well for most of 2016, so I am not quilting customer quilts at this time. But I am enjoying my machine and loving spending many hours working in my studio. I am beyond thankful for this beautiful dream come true. And I look forward to every moment of every day. Life Is Good🌷🌷🌷
