We’re kicking off the 2026 Doe Bay Artist in Residence season with two incredible artists joining us next week: Edlyn Clevenger and Chris Haugen

For the seventh year of DB-AIR, artists will gather to rest, write, collaborate, perform, and create music inspired by the magic of Doe Bay and Orcas Island.

Edlyn Clevenger (May 21–26) brings an eclectic folk sound woven from voice, octave mandolin, keys, percussion, and songs shaped by the many places she’s traveled. Her performances invite listeners into moments that feel transporting, intimate, and deeply alive.

Chris Haugen (May 20–26) is a nationally recognized guitarist and producer known for his soulful tone, fluid musicianship, and deep roots in the Seattle and Bay Area music scenes.

We can’t wait to welcome these artists into the Doe Bay community and hear what unfolds through a week of creativity, collaboration, and island magic.

Stephcynie surprised us all with her vocal arrangement and expression akin to Shirley Bassey in her song Run Away. Jonas Myers equally impressed us with his effortless improvised accompaniment. We could not have imagined how well these two complimented one another during their residency. Thank you Stephcynie and Jonas for an unforgettable week! And to everyone else, we know you will enjoy Run Away...

Navid Eliot has been the source of a number of high points at Doe Bay. When he brought this tune Just Tryin to Get What I Want, our jaws dropped. Kevin Colomby looked over at me after the first take and without saying a thing said "The hair on my arm is all standing straight up" When Jeff Fielder heard the song he gave a virtuoso solo. An incredible song so well performed. Thanks Navid

Craig Suede is a part of Doe Bay... He had a low point when his guitar got stolen in Seattle this year and a high point for us was when Doe Bay was able to give him a replacement Stratocaster as a surprise at open mic. He has paid back the favor with this song. Is it True What They Say? Time Heals Everthing! JOE

Fleur and Wesley and Phoenix were such wonderful guests but I wasn't ready for how much "Right as Rain" impacted me. An instant Classic, and my favorite mandolin solo!! Thank you to The W Lovers!!

Kate Dinsmore is incredible... The fastest study and she added tracks that made other artists' work even better. I saw her play "Because You're One of Them" on the Doe Bay Cafe stage during her residency. I asked her to record it with us and she seemed to think it was just another tune. It is an instant classic that you will hum all day long after hearing. Enjoy JOE (Kate is coming back this winter by the way).

Nick Drummond was the find of the summer. Shelby Christ recommended him and that opened the door. I felt lucky to get to watch him perform... I kept asking no one in particular, "How does he do that?" He has two songs on this Doe Bay All-Stars Band album, both of which are on his new album "Unto the Breach". Thanks Nick for sharing with the Doe Bay community and the door is always open to you.
