This week marks ten years since Jennifer Stettler Parsons, Ph.D., joined the team at the Florence Griswold Museum!

In 2016, Jenny started as Assistant Curator, with appointments to Associate Curator (2019), Curator of Exhibitions (2024), and Senior Curator in 2026. She specializes in American, modern, and contemporary art, and established the Museum's Artist-in-Residence program in 2019. Holding degrees in art history from the University of Virginia, George Washington University, and the University of Delaware, Jenny previously held positions and fellowships at the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C.

At the Florence Griswold Museum, Jenny has curated significant exhibitions such as "Fragile Earth: The Naturalist Impulse in Contemporary Art", "Dana Sherwood: Animal Appetites and Other Encounters in Wildness", and "Their Kindred Earth: Photographs by William Earle Williams". Her scholarship has added several publications to the Museum's imprint, including catalogues for those three exhibitions, among others.

She has represented the Museum at national conferences and statewide engagements, as well as an internationally screened film "The Artist's Garden: American Impressionism produced by Exhibitions on Screen". She is currently working on several traveling exhibitions for the Museum including a partnership with the National Trust for Historic Preservation's Historic Artists' Homes and Studios.

Please join us in thanking Jenny for her outstanding contributions and congratulating her on this major achievement.
