🌸🌸 The pigment is from various wildflowers I harvested last year and made into basic prints. I couldn't decide what else to do with them, so they've just been sitting in my studio. A few days ago - I hand carved stamps, added small elements in ink, and metallic watercolor. The metallic doesn't even show in photos, and it's my favorite part. 🌸🌸

✨I'm so excited to share that my first grant proposal as an artist was accepted!✨

The grant is provided by First Nations Development Institute's Acorn Fund. With these funds, I'll be travelling to Ocmulgee Mounds National Park (Macon, GA) and Moundville Archaeological Park (Tuscaloosa, AL) to do archival research and harvest River Cane locally. I'll also be hosting a couple free workshops towards the end of my grant cycle. I'm so excited and so grateful for this opportunity to learn and grow as an artist.

They're a little over 10" long. Lol. I can't wait to wear them in Santa Fe next week.

The freehand burned design is a suuuper simple representation of a bandolier bag strap. I think they balanced out well with this simple bead pattern, too.
