The BATAP @ OCU was designed to give students the full scope of theatrical education and how to use theatre to influence growth in the community and across mediums. A BA in Theatre and Performance at Oklahoma City University trains students to become twenty-first century artists through researching innovate new works and exploring the creative processes of the artists who developed them. Classes s

erve as studio incubators for students to devise their own work while utilizing emerging media technologies to inform their personal artistic voice and development process. In the first semester students generate short plays, studio projects, podcasts, exhibitions, and workshops. Our Study Abroad Program challenges students to become global citizens as they engage with a wide range of communities through art. The capstone project will showcase the students’ original material in OCU’s Festival of New Work. Graduates embody constructive collaboration, innovative thinking, and creative problem-solving across disciplines and venues.

We are sad to share the news that puppet designer and builder Caroly Wilcox passed away. Caroly started working with Jim Henson in 1969, where she helped create the wonderful cast of puppet characters for Sesame Street. Over two decades she lent her amazing talents to a host of Henson productions, including The Muppet Show, Emmet Otter's Jug-band Christmas, Fraggle Rock, and many others. We had the great privilege of talking to Caroly, along with Bonnie Erickson and Rollie Krewson, in May. She will be greatly missed by her friends, colleagues, and family.

So proud of the BA in Theatre and Performance students at OCU. Last night we had 196 independent viewers in our YouTube. Tonight our Sophomores presented original work that took us on a virtual scavenger hunt. It was more engaging than anything I have seen a professional theatre company do up to this point in our socially distant world.
