We’ve generally had some students practicing at the library while they waited for their guardian the last few years. However, last year, our most recent alumni and current students practiced so much that the library has taken it upon themselves to designate a dedicated time and place just for Belle Isle students to play music.
We all know it takes a village, a love for music, and a place to do it. And the staff of the Belle Isle Library have shown that not only are they a safe place to be and enjoy music, but they want to encourage and promote to all of our students.
We cannot thank them enough. We know librarians are the unsung heroes of reading literacy and performance, our kids adore theirs, and these folks have proven, yet again, just how awesome they are to our students.
We also want to give a shout out to our recent alumni. You know who you are, and this is a prime example that when you lead by example, people notice and opportunities are made. You not only made yourself better and created opportunities for yourself to be successful, but also have now created opportunities for others. Thank you for leading our legacy yet again, even if you didn’t realize you would be.
