Hi friends of the former Kara Lane Ceramics now Kara's Lost and Found page! About a year ago I shared that I would be starting a new project and I'm thrilled to present the progress I've made so far. It's called Pottery People and it is designed to provide quick, informative, and totally free pottery tutorial videos.The first couple of videos are up on the website as well as one on the page! We're on instagram too . I do plan to add a shop to the website soon. I'm incredibly eager to share my new line of ceramics with you. I hope you'll join me on the new FB page and check out the website too!

I plan to transfer the Lost and Found project over to the website and new page eventually, but I think I'll leave it here a little longer🙂

As many of you know, I have been purging old inventory by delivering pottery to public spaces in the hopes that people will find and enjoy them. I planned on renaming or deleting this page at the close of 2019 but this little project has been really fun and I am interested to see how it evolves. So, for now, I intend to leave it up and see where this journey goes. In the meantime, here is a sneak peak at a new piece I've made for my future brand Hey Pottery People. I will be working on a FB page and eventually a website of my own for HPP. I am so excited for 2020 and this new project!

Hey Friends of Kara Lane Ceramics! I have something to share that I'm really excited about. At the end of the year I will be closing this page and moving on from Kara Lane Ceramics to pursue a new project that I am tentatively calling Hey Pottery People. My goal is to sell my own work and pieces that I have collected and curated, and have educational videos and blogs all on one website. Keep an eye out for it in the coming year!
In the meantime I have old inventory that I want to do something fun with... I was thinking of putting things in public places with a note that says, "I need a home". Any other suggestions?

Update: to those of you who commented that you would like pieces, your support is so much appreciated! The pieces I have right now are seconds, meaning each one has a flaw of some kind that made it not sellable. I want my friends to have the best of my work so anyone who wants a piece I will have work for you next year! As for these pieces, I am going to experiment with different ways for strangers to find or receive them. I want to try and have some fun with letting them go, and letting go of Kara Lane Ceramics for now, without being sad or trying to sell things I'm not 100% proud of. More to come on that process AND my new project Hey Pottery People!

I had the amazing opportunity to collaborate with Factory Obscura on some pieces for the gift shop at their new exhibit, Mix-Tape. Phase 1 opened this evening, go check it out and pick up some Kara Lane + Factory Obscura merch!
