RACE Dance Collective is highly committed to providing dance programming for all ages and levels in the OKC community. Whether you're a seasoned pro, new to dance, or enjoy a class here and and there for fun, we have something for you! Here's some of our main programs and what they offer:
RACE The Space: an adult community dance studio that provides classes of all styles and levels. Classes chang
e monthly as we try to diversity our offerings, but the times stay consistent. RACE Company: Our professional dance company primary focuses on hip hop, jazz, and contemporary. Auditions occur annually around August and we offer full or show-based contracts. Major performance opportunities include: RACE's Hip Hop Nutcracker, The RACEy Show, and the annual June performance. RACE Academy: Our pre-professional training company is geared to middle school and high school students. Directed by Hui Poos, students rehearse once a week for 4 hours, where they get an hour master classes followed by learning material for their upcoming performances. Performances opportunities include RACE's Hip Hop Nutcracker, Oklahoma's Festival of the Arts, and other community collaborations. Community Partnerships: We love working with our community in as many ways that help us fulfill our mission. We provide free public classes throughout various libraries and parks, as well as engage in small performances to bring awareness to other amazing things that are happening in the OKC community.
