Wow! What a night we had Friday! Thanks to the energetic crowd, to our hosts OK Cider Co, our prize sponsors OK Cider Co and The Floating Bookshop, and most of all to the amazing storytellers! On the theme "F*** Around and Find Out" we heard tales of a novice teacher trying to bust cheaters; a bungie jumping adventure that scarred for life; literal "effing around" that resulted in a teenage pregnancy and defiance of others' expectations; a child's doomed (but mistaken) acceptance of an early death; a road trip in a '66 T-bird named Thelma that went off the rails into dangerous territory--on repeat; refinery worker nepo babies who stuck it to THE MAN; mean girl Catholic school hi jinx that resulted in repeat visits to the head nun's office; revenge by taco; and those people who are the forces of Nature who help others do the finding out.
Do you have a story you're burning to tell?? Next month is a great opportunity because it's an open topic session. ANYTHING GOES on May 8! Take advantage of the story circle THIS TUESDAY, April 14 at 7pm. It's a friendly, low-stakes way to try out your stories in a casual workshop setting at OK Cider Co.
