Slanted Easel is a “paint and sip” business started by local artist/art teacher Corey Riddles Lumry, who wants her art classes to be fun and offer an opportunity to socialize. Classes are offered in various restaurants and venues in the Shawnee area and beyond. Slanted Easel is also happy do to private parties and fundraisers. Corey has worked as an art teacher and artist in Shawnee for the past 2

2 years. She is currently the Visual Arts Teacher at Shawnee Middle School, where she has taught for the past 6 years. She also taught art at Grove School for over 7 years, as well as private and small group lessons. Corey has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from the University of Oklahoma and has also attended the Oklahoma Fall Arts Institute, working with a variety of media techniques, for the past 5 years. She is married with 3 daughters and also enjoys riding and competing in hunter/jumper equestrian competitions, as well as teaching riding lessons. Some of her additional skills include mastering the hula hoop, connoisseur of all things chocolate, and being able to get a classroom full of adolescent teenagers to clean up after themselves. Slanted Easel offers a fun way to create your own artistic masterpieces while enjoying food and drinks, visiting with old friends, and meeting new ones.

Slanted Easel has been on a bit of a hiatus since I transitioned into my role with Life.Church. The anticipation for fall and some new techniques have me very excited!

Hey everyone! Slanted Easel and Elevated Grounds are partnering for a painting event again! I'm looking at tentative dates of Tue. Jan.16th or brunch on Sat. Jan.20th. We're painting on a pallet sign. I'll be posting the painting this week. Stay tuned!
