Get ready for a night of Black cinema, culture, conversation, and community as The Reel Culture Project presents:

📍 Historic Jewel Theatre — 904 NE 4th Street, OKC

⏰ 7:30 PM–11:00 PM

We’re bringing our teens to the center of the conversation! Before the movie, our youth panelists will take the stage to share their thoughts on family, relationships, growing up, culture, and the themes that make Crooklyn such a powerful story. 🎤

And then… MOVIE TIME! 🎥🍿

We’ll be watching Spike Lee’s Crooklyn under the stars at this historic Oklahoma City landmark.

Bring your lawn chair or blanket
KidVation will be on-site with snacks available for purchase
We’ll also be giving away gift cards to for students!

But this isn’t just a movie night.

It’s about giving young people a space to lead, speak, learn, connect, and experience their culture through cinema.

Saturday was more than a tour… it was a history lesson. 🎬✨

Our Teen Panelists had the opportunity to tour the historic Jewel Theatre and learn about the space they’ll be helping bring to life during our upcoming Teen Black Movie Cinema Night.

We talked history, community, Black cinema, and what it means to have a space like the Jewel Theatre right here in Northeast OKC. ❤️🖤

These young people aren’t just showing up for an event — they’re learning, leading, asking questions, and becoming part of the story.

And this is exactly what The Reel Culture Project is about. 🎥

📚✨ CAN’T VOLUNTEER THE NIGHT OF THE EVENT? HERE’S ANOTHER WAY YOU CAN HELP! ✨📚

We know everyone can’t be there in person, but you can still make an impact! 🙌🏾

This year, instead of giving away school supplies, The Reel Culture Project is giving $25 gift cards to 50 students to help them get ready for the new school year. 🎒💳

That’s $1,250 going directly to local students!

💙 Let’s come together and make this happen!

You can help by sponsoring a student with a $25 donation or giving whatever amount you can. Every contribution gets us closer to our goal of supporting 50 students.
