From 2022 show!
THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
Sandy Gard and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the people who helped us have a fabulous quilt show this last weekend. It takes a lot of people to put on a quilt show and this Guild really stepped up. In particular I would like to thank the members of our committee, most of whom have stood with us for four years getting the 2020 show ready only to be cancelled 4 months before, and then stayed on the committee to put on this 2022 show: Maria Jackson and Bettye Chalk (our always there when we needed them and always willing to help helpers), Jo Balding who did a great job with publicity; Mary Schooley who organized vendor hospitality; Bonnie Bowman, who put together an awesome and very profitable Artisan's Market; Alice Kellogg, who cataloged and organized all of the quilt entries and quilt hanging design; Patti Teague who collected fabulous and numerous door prizes; Sherry Massey, judging and ribbon coordinator; Tracy Smith and Teresa Higdon, who worked tirelessly to fill the vendor slots numerous times after cancellations, who organized getting the vendors in place, and numerous other vendor related duties; Audrey Gramling who stepped in at the last minute to organize the volunteers, and Custodia Ewald who helped supervise ticket sales. In addition, we would like to thank Bobby Kellogg and Darice Hall for all their hard work getting quilts hung, identified, ribboned, and taken down and to Marilyn Marusa who has kept our page constantly updated with quilt show information. There were numerous volunteers who came to help hang the show and to help take the quilts down and returned to their owners, as well as volunteers for selling tickets, working in the artisan's booth, doing white glove duties and watching the back door, helping with vendor hospitality, helping at the door prize table, helping to sell raffle tickets and any other job that needed doing. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.
Finally we would like to extend a huge thank you to our sponsors: Bernina of Oklahoma City and The Stitching Post, as well as our other vendors: 2 Buzy Bees from Edgewood, New Mexico; Prairie Woolens from Paulina, IA; Material Girl from Grand Island, NE; Southern Comfort from Catoosa, OK; Loft Supply from The Woodlands, TX; Legit Kits from Oklahoma City; Okie Skies Quilting from Allen, OK; Bob's Shop from Pittsburg, KS; Aunt Pam's Closet from Henrietta, TX; Prairie Notions from Allen, OK; Piece Out Quilting from Edmond, OK; Eye of the Beholder Quilt Designs from Milken, Co; Good with Sugar from Houston, TX; Andi's Quilt Co. from Edmond, OK and Sawyer Creek Artistry from Columbia, MO. And to Laura Heine, of Fiberworks in Billings, MT for 2 awesome workshops and a really fun and informative lecture. And to the following quilt stores who generously donated gift certificates for our first place and special awards winners: Savage Quilter, Sooner Quilts, OK Quiltworks, Threads of Tradition, Make It Sew, and Keepsake Fabrics
