Our guest performers for next Saturdayโ€™s 7 pm show!!! ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ:
Movement Theatre CoLab is a company based out of Ventura County, California. Directed by Robert Salas, the company has been a platform for artistic collaboration. MTC has been performing, touring and creating dance works together for the past two years and are proud to officially return and join the multitude of strong Southern California dance companies.

The philosophy of Movement Theatre CoLab is to provide a platform for movement exploration and collaboration of the arts: Dance, Music, Visual and Sculptural expression. Their work is an attempt to visit the fertile lands of collaboration brought to light by Sergei Diaghilevโ€™s Ballet Russes. This work features Brianna Turner .dance and Catherine Fields .hf.
Brianna Turner is a Ventura based dancer with a focus in modern dance. She grew up dancing competitively at a studio in Ojai CA, and continued her training from there all throughout high school and into college. She is currently attending Moorpark Community College to receive her Associates of Arts in Dance, with receiving outstanding achievement awards for her choreography and the Tane Memorial Scholarship reward throughout her time at MCC. Her recent activities have consisted of performing in the Dance in the Desert Festival in Las Vegas this past July, and continuing to train as a dancer with Movement Theatre Colab.

Catherine Fields is a Los Angeles based dancer, primarily trained in modern dance. She began her dance journey at studios in her hometown, Santa Rosa, CA, where she built her foundation of dance technique. She later expanded her dance craft at Santa Monica College from 2020-2022, then at Moorpark College from 2022-2025; where she practiced a variety of dance styles and choreographic methods. Catherine has additionally completed a Certificate of Achievement of Dance Arts through Moorpark College. She now trains under Robert Salas with his modern-based dance company, Movement Theatre CoLab.

Rehm Sricamthai has always loved dancing, she loves the feeling of letting her body loose when moving to fun melodies and rhythms. Sheโ€™s been dancing ever since she was a little girl as it is an important form of energy for her and her sanity. Being in the Nordhoff Dance program as a sophomore, junior, and now senior has been a bright gem for her to keep in her treasure chest of memories for her school years. The Nordhoff Dance Program has taught her many things like passion and true thrill. For passion, itโ€™s the process of creating something in the class and getting strong enthusiasm for it. And for true thrill, she didnโ€™t know how much she loved putting herself on a stage until this program. She loves putting on a show and showcasing a character through her work, whether itโ€™s subtle or more extreme, and the program provided that for her. Rehmโ€™s future goal is to become an actor along with being a screen writer. She wants to work in the entertainment industry while keeping her streak of creating and presenting. After high school, she plans on going to a community college while at the same time, building up her acting career. What sheโ€™ll miss most about the Nordhoff Dance program would be the yearly excitement that comes around with the dance concerts. She loves being a part of something, so for that sheโ€™ll miss the community. She wants to thank Ms. Hoj and Ms. G for being her dance teachers, with them leading her to the wonderful experiences of dance. She is grateful that she got to be in a program, and would love to look for opportunities like this in the future. Rehm is also grateful for her family as they cheer her on with her work. Overall, she loved the time that she had spent at the Nordhoff Dance program, and will miss it, along with the friends she made there.

Over the past four years dance has become so much more than just an activity to Arlette Quintero-Velez, it has become a second home to her. The studio is one of the places where she always felt completely comfortable, safe, and free to be herself and she can truly canโ€™t imagine what her life would look like without it. Through this program she has accomplished things she once would have never thought would be possible. Like becoming dance company president and peer tutoring, and along her journey not only did she grow as a dance but as a person. Dance has given her confidence, strength, and a sense of purpose that she will always carry with her. As she looks toward the future, she plans to attend SBCC to study cosmetology and business, hoping to open a beauty salon. Throughout this dream she wants to continue dancing as an important part of her life. Leaving NHS is a bittersweet feeling. She will miss Mrs. Hoj, Ms. G, Ms. Kelsie, and Ms. Kirsten but most of all, she will miss the beautiful friendship she has built over the past few years who have been by her side through everything. She will miss the little moments of walking into class laughing, talking and joking around when they were all supposed to be focused, all the moments when they struggled with choreography and asked each other for help and encouragement and how Mrs. Hoj would help and guide them through the movement. Lastly she will miss seeing all of her and her friends dancing together in the studio not having a care in the world and only trying to live in the moment that they were in. More than anything, she will miss knowing that she had a place to go to when she needed it. A space where she felt supported, understood, and surrounded by the people who always brought out the best in her. She wants to thank her family and friends who have been by her side through her dance journey and all the love and support they have given her. She specifically wants to thank her mom who has always been her number one supporter through everything and how she would cheer her on through every dance and hear her scream from the audience โ€œ LETS GO ARLETTEโ€. Thank you Mami. I love you so much.
