Studio cleanups always reveal the beginning, like back when we started Killscrow together in 2012ish. We were asking ourselves: what is it? Why are we doing this together? What is the mission? We still ask ourselves these questions, especially as we approach the celebration of our 10th year of marriage. Through the sometimes thankless adventure of commodifying our crafts, unruly debt, an incredible child, many humbling years spent trying to conceive that incredible child, 4 location changes, and working for others, we’ve always managed to find each other back where we started - as two people collaborating in our spirit and love for the craft. What we do is technically separate but always connected. Bravo for honest people crafting honest work amidst life..... here is a shot of a booklet/zine of some drawings I put together years ago- L

Farewell BARRO Barro Mercado It’s with a pit in our guts mixed with a sigh of relief that we say goodbye to our showroom/retail space. As it turns out, running a freelance furniture and art business, having a baby, surviving a monumental fire disaster and landing a new full-time gig is pretty hard to juggle with a storefront. We had plenty of vision and not enough bandwidth which inevitably led to a slow leakage of spirit. With our partners we made a space that felt “soothing”, to quote so many visitors. Now we proudly pass the baton to dear friend and talented wonder girl We all look forward to seeing how Cara transforms this light filled box with her visions of seaweed, color, pattern and love.

2018 gifted us with a son and a basket full of humbling truths. The hard stuff has been the gritty, growth-inspired stuff. The good stuff has been the best we’ve ever had. WIN WIN. May 2019 bring us all love and abundance 🥂
