I feel like I make a similar post at least once a year BUT this is important to remember.
This tattoo is 10 years old.
When a tattoo is fresh the ink particles are deposited into the deeper layer of your skin. The immune system doesn’t like the ink and will try to remove it. Some of the particles stay. That’s why you still have a tattoo! As you age tiny ink particles spread and make the tattoo “blend” or “blur” together.
This is why we always suggest to go bigger with writing and small details. And also why finger tattoos are normally an issue.
This also goes for “fine line” tattoos. It may look nice for awhile but within a few years, this will happen. That ink isn’t going to stay exactly where it is and the lines will become thicker and those sharp edges will soften.
Please ask your artist questions before you get work done. This will help avoid any confusion when it comes to small detailed tattoos.
