"Time Travel"

Good morning !

Here is a view of The Full Arch of The Milky Way as it rises off the coast of Marginal Way in Ogunquit Maine.
When you look at The Core of our galaxy you are seeing it as it looked about 26,000 years ago. You are seeing the galaxy as it was before the existence of any recorded history and at that time Marginal Way was underneath The Laurentide Glacial Ice Sheet.

The Ogunquit Photography Gallery is at 119 Perkins Cove in Ogunquit Maine and we are open everyday from 10-5pm. My days to work this year are Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday if you want to stop in and nerd out about cameras or just say hello !

Good morning from Nubble Lighthouse !

I actually captured this one early yesterday morning before I ventured up to Marginal Way to enjoy sunrise.
Turns out waking up at 3am is not so hard when you have the worst insomnia of your life and you hadn't been to bed for 4 days.
I opted for the north side view for this image which required some rocky navigation but I eventually made my way far enough out onto the rocks to get the line up I was after. From that side you are quite far away from the actual lighthouse so if you shoot The Milky Way with a wide angle lens like most do The Nubble would have appeared very small and diminished in the scene so I opted to shoot this one at 50mm which I like because not only is The Nubble more prominent in the image but also it really zeros in on the core of The Milky Way and adds bit of excitement to the image IMO. Of course as is always the case with me, things did not go exactly as planned and the "s**t show" reared it ugly head quite literally. As I was packing up my gear to head out my headlamp died. That in and of itself was not really a big problem EXCEPT that when I was packing my bag I saw a dark object on the rocks that I thought was a lens cap...it was NOT. It was a pile of goose s**t and I picked it right up like a boss. Immediately stated gagging and freaking out because I was at least 300 yards from a sanitary wipe.. Most definitely the "s**ttest' image I have ever captured !
