Meet Ashley Pourier, our Art Curator!

Ashley first joined the team as an intern and gift shop assistant before becoming Assistant Curator in 2014. A graduate of Red Cloud Indian School with a Fine Arts degree from Carthage College, she is passionate about celebrating Native art and supporting her community.

The Čhatkú Arts Center interprets, honors, and celebrates the continuum of contemporary artistic expressions of indigenous people with an emphasis on supporting the Oglala Lakota community.

Each year, the Čhatkú Arts Center hosts 2-3 exhibitions beyond our summer Art Show and we're excited to see you at our Grand Opening Celebration on June 6, 2026!

Something interesting, I drew this image and was looking for the appropriate ledger paper to put it on. I found this one with a persons name from home who recently showed me where to find berries. 😱
