TEDx Ogden

TEDx Ogden TEDxOgden is an independently organized event that brings local people together through thought-provoking speakers and mind-blowing conversation.

About TEDx, x = independently organized event
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED

Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.) About TED
TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Started as a four-day conference in California 30 years ago, TED has grown to support its mission with multiple initiatives. The two annual TED Conferences invite the world's leading thinkers and doers to speak for 18 minutes or less. Many of these talks are then made available, free, at TED.com. TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, Elizabeth Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson, Nandan Nilekani, Philippe Starck, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Sal Khan and Daniel Kahneman. The annual TED Conference takes place each spring in Vancouver, British Columbia. TED's media initiatives include TED.com, where new TED Talks are posted daily; the Open Translation Project, which provides subtitles and interactive transcripts as well as translations from volunteers worldwide; the educational initiative TED-Ed. TED has established the annual TED Prize, where exceptional individuals with a wish to change the world get help translating their wishes into action; TEDx, which supports individuals or groups in hosting local, self- organized TED-style events around the world, and the TED Fellows program, helping world-changing innovators from around the globe to amplify the impact of their remarkable projects and activities. For more than a year, we have worked tirelessly to bring TEDxOgden safely to our community. Unfortunately, the surge of the Delta variant has presented unexpected and insurmountable challenges for us and our supporters.

As the independent TEDxOgden organizers, we have always kept the best interest of the community as our priority, it has become apparent in the face of these challenges that we can no longer effectively host TEDxOgden 2021.

TEDxOgden has become a premier event for Ogden, and we will not move forward with a show that delivers anything less than the excellence our community has come to expect and deserves from us.

We regret that we will not be hosting the event this year and apologize to all involved who put in their time, talents, and ideas. We look forward to converging at TEDxOgden in the future.

On June 29, 2019, Amy Wilde had her moment on the TEDxOgden stage and delivered her talk, "The Powerful Significance of One." Many have asked her how she got to share her story on the TEDx stage. Below are the seven steps she took to make this dream a reality.

Our evening entertainment will include an incredible dance and drum line performance choreographed by by The Haus Dance Agency! 💃 🥁

👉 Founded by Lexie Martinez and Hunter Stevenson, The Haus Dance Agency has produced an extraordinary routine that features young talented dancers representing several different studios and teams around Ogden and Weber County, including Simply Posh, Eminence, Bonneville Lakettes, and the Ogden High School Drill, Pom and Cheer teams.

For this performance, the Haus is collaborating with the Ogden High School Band, led by Stan Renda, to create a euphoric visualization of how a small idea driven by personal experiences can create something so unique that it has the potential to change the world.

The Haus Dance provides the tools, training, and environment for dedicated dancers to explore their own creativity. We welcome dancers from ALL studios who long for opportunities to individually develop skills and exceed their personal goals, outside of their normal studio training. We also have an in-HAUS team, that competes around the mid and west coast.

"I am incredibly honored for the opportunity to return to the TedxOgden stage for a second time. This year we've expanded by gathering insanely talented dancers from around our city, as well as, Stan Renda, the Ogden High School Band Director, to produce a beautifully unique collaboration. We hope to have the audience leaving with chills and the tenacity to create with 'the bigger picture' in mind because we all have the potential to change the world." - Lexie Martinez
