I am a little bit behind but here is the awesome pictures from nutcracker.Another year of nutcracker is underway and done ? The process of nutcracker starts way before the week of performances . In may they are able to try out for parts. In preparation evia did some private lessons and practiced and worked hard for tryouts where later in June Evia found out she got the part she wanted she got to be the cat in cast B! She has worked tirelessly and has worked so hard her pantomime was so good in her performances it was so animated and was so cute and she did amazing on her pointe shoes she has worked through pain and tendonitis and steroid shots and had her best performances she said she has ever done we couldn't be more proud. She got to do her dance with her good friend greydis who was the dog . I am so happy we worked so hard on props throughout the years because we finally get to see evias good friends her age use the props in their final years of nutcracker . Making each prop beautiful so everyone feels special who uses them . The girls got to use the magic boxes Evia was in the sun one. And these girls were thick as thieves and had so fun performing together . They complimented each other and had such a great time. Evias other friend Peyton was kitty for cast a and we made the girls matching sweaters for their parts which they loved and won't take off ;). After her performances with her solos she was able to go say to people leaving the theater and a sweet girl made Evia a picture and thought Evia was a beautiful as a Disney princess she was so cute and endearing
She got to perform with some of her best friends and we couldn't be more proud !

My favorite time of year to paint is this year around Halloween but one of my favorite things to paint is sugar skulls. I got the privilege to go paint these lovely ladies the day before Halloween I went down to a fellow painters home where she airbrushed the base and eye sockets and I got to play with the rest of the face these women painted and then go dressed up to day of the dead events they do it because they love their heritage and history.And when I got these photos back I just had to share how lovely they all looked . And the ironic thing was on November 1st I had a facepainter event painting for dia des los mu***os and painting sugar skulls all night down in millcreek which is where these women went and dressed up for two days before I went to the event. They had beautiful offrendas and music and gorgeous dancers who's costumes took your breath away. I take great care every time I paint these sugar skulls they are beautiful and intimate and how special each one is and how special it is to the Hispanic community. ***os
