Fischer Regan Enterprises and its collaborators are social entrepreneurs committed to the redevelopment of Ogden’s historical assets, districts, and community, one building at a time. We create a vision, purpose and fresh energy within Ogden's historical buildings once thought obsolete and outdated. We are inspired by the past but look toward the future as we imagine the endless possibilities of what these buildings can become and how they can uplift our community.

We are honored to partner with Ogden City and GMRE to revitalize the Exchange Building, one of Utah's most significant Art Deco landmarks, located at the former Ogden Union Stockyards.

Just one year ago, the historic Union Stockyard Exchange Building was named to Preservation Utah's Most Endangered Buildings List. With the release of the 2026 list last week, the building now carries a new designation-- SAVED!
This project proves we don't have to choose between honoring our history and pursuing innovation. It takes partners who believe historic buildings deserve a future and we found that in Fischer Regan Enterprises, LLC. I'm excited to see the Union Stock Exchange Building become a center of industry once again, just as I'm excited about the future of Ogden Union Station. When we preserve places that tell Ogden's story and give them new purpose, we're building a city that future generations will be proud to inherit.

The work has already begun—starting with removing and properly storing the Exchange building's intricate animal-head brickwork for safekeeping until it's ready to be places again.
Inside, the building has been cleaned out and architectural design work is underway as plans continue to move forward.

Designed by Leslie Hodgson, the Union Stock Exchange Building stands alongside Ogden High School, the Forest Service Building, and the Municipal Building as one of the city's architectural treasures. We're excited to see this landmark continue its journey from endangered to restored.

There are so many good stories about the history around this sign… But one of my favorites is that Young Electric Sign Company | YESCO who built the sign in 1944, rebuilt it in 2006 and still service it today.

Let’s face it. Ogden was made for film photography.

In this month’s issue, Caril Jennings takes us back to the iconic Asian American restaurants of Ogden’s past when noodle parlors were plentiful in the city.

“I was a teenager in Ogden in the 1960s. ‘Chinese’ restaurants were a favorite place to go eat for entertainment. Every restaurant at the time specialized in giant — I mean GIANT — battered shrimp served with a chili sauce and a schmear of wasabi. Grant and Kiesel, between 24th and 25th, and the south end of Washington Boulevard starting around 30th offered a variety of noodle parlors and Chinese restaurants.”

Do you remember?

• Bamboo Noodle Parlor
• China Nite (1963-2005)
• China Temple
• Eastern Winds still open!
• Golden Dynasty
• Jade Terrace
• Kay’s Noodle Parlor opened in 1914
• Maple Gardens
• Yu’s Maple Gardens still open!
• Lee’s Mongolian BBQ since 1978, still open!
• Star Noodle ((pictured))opened in 1948 by the Ryujin family at 225 25th St. (inside the 1912 Rex Theater movie palace), home of the now-restored Neon Dragon. It closed with the aging of its owners in 2007.
• Utah Noodle Parlor
• Windy’s Sukiyaki. After 50 years, the iconic Japanese restaurant closed in 2025. It is now Steiny’s sports bar.

Let us know if we missed any!
