Issac Geockeritz has been making short and feature length documentaries for over twenty years, including for PBS and Weber State (where he also received his bachelor's degree), and has over 60 of them on his YouTube channel. And lucky for us, he made one right up our alley.

We'll be showing Issac's 80-minute film, "Ogden: Junction City of the West" during our pop up train event tomorrow, 8/26/21. It's a beautifully done, and fantastically interesting, look into Ogden's history with the railroads.

And also lucky for us, The Ziegfeld Theater has graciously agreed to show it on their big screen! And to make it even better, Issac will be in attendance as well, and available to chat about his experiences prior to the film at 6pm at Gandy Dancer Mercantile! Woohoo!

"As a filmmaker, I record to inspire. I believe the documentary medium has the power to inspire lives and change the world. My work is motivated by a desire to record powerful stories that spread positive influence and are accessible to all who seek it."

Giveaway! 😍

In honor of Pioneer Days, we present to you... an "art horse" contest! 🐴 Be the first to comment with the correct answer, and win up to four passes to Union Station! 🚂

👉Did you know the “horses” in Ogden are part of a large art project called “The Trail to Pioneer Days”? The horses are placed along 25th Street, Washington Blvd, and The Junction, and are designed to honor Ogden’s annual Pioneer Days festivities. The fiberglass horses lead the way to Ogden Pioneer Stadium (668 17th St). You can learn more about each horse here: https://horsemap.ogdencity.com/

🕵️‍♀️Mission: Visit the website above and locate the horse titled “Ogden Union Station Past and Present.” Then visit that horse in person:
#1- Find the train with only two digits.
#2- Add the two digits together.
#3- Find the train whose number begins with the answer from #2.
#4- Add all the digits from this train number together to get a two digit number, then add those two digits together to get one digit.
#5- Find the only train that contains this digit. What’s that train number?

Comment with your answer and post of photo of your team at the horse!

One of the biggest let downs in creating The Great Ogden Scavenger Hunt - Train Edition was that although "Union Ave" and "Pacific Ave" do intersect on a map, the actual names on the sign are different ! 😒 That would have been a perfect clue for game-goers to find! 🏆

But did you know you actually walk right by this sign in one of the game challenges?

Get your team admission now for some fun weekend exploring! www.huntforglory.com

The ultimate hunt. HELP me find these men who burgled my home Friday, July 2, 2021 in Roy, UT.

This first man was encountered, in person and on video by my neighbor, casing the area, about 9:20pm, Thursday July 1, 2021. He was on a video call with an accomplice asking, "is this the place?"

The second man was caught on the security camera inside my condo that night at 2am, 7/2/21. He broke in through a window.

He stole my purse, keys, garage door opener and other items in my car, made multiple fraudulent attempts on my credit and debit cards, some at Walmart in Taylorsville/Murray, UT, and tried to open a credit card in my name.

I was home during the burglary, but fortunately he wasn't interested in the people. And thankfully he didn't damage anything. 🙏

Let's see if anyone recognizes these men. Share, share, share! Please contact the Roy Police Department with any information, case , 801-629-8221.

🎫Everyone who shares this post will be invited to a fun event this summer (train-related, of course!). Details to come.

Scavenger Hunts For New Fun!

Check out a new kind of fun for couples, groups, teams, or companies! Public hunts are available as well as the option for personalized hunts. Read below for information on our upcoming hunts at Lagoon Park:

Add a new element of fun to your Lagoon Park visit! Whether you are visiting for the day or are a season pass-holder; are with your friends or your family - or even alone; or are kids, parents, or neither; you’ll have a blast adding a Hunt For Glory scavenger hunt to your day.

Our first scavenger hunt is entirely non-ride-based. You’ll visit the park from end to end and enjoy the beauty and history located in this former resort. Upcoming hunts may include one that is a ride-based hunt, a hunt exploring the various forms of art around the Park, and a treasure hunt-type style which leads from clue to clue. Interested in one of these or something else? Message us to say so!

Please note that Hunt for Glory is not affiliated with Lagoon Park in any way. But we sure do want people to go there. We think it’s a pretty rocking place.
