Myriad Dance and Umbrella Theater Company present MERAKI. Created with love and inspired by categories of love as defined by ancient Greek philosophy, this project features a collection of dance duos with live music.

My choreography explores mature love. The piece draws from my experience leaning into trust and uncertainty when my relationship felt completely turned upside down from becoming a parent.

The Tree that Time Built

Do not fret
And do not doubt.
You are in time.
You can’t fall out.

No Matter what
You say or do,
You are in time.
Time is in you.

And everything
That is to be
Will be in time
Upon this tree.

-Mary Ann Hoberman

We are thrilled to be choreographing and performing alongside students and nationally renowned choreographers alike!

Amelia and I (tawna) have been co-creating a work “three deep breaths”exploring time. Time as we fragile humans see it, time that exists outside of our grasp, time as circular, like tree rings.

For me, time is evident in the studio. I have been working with a few former high school students who have grown into powerful university dancers.
Come and see this!

✨ closing night ✨

Ogden, thank you for your support. Starting rehearsals in the dark winter of the pandemic, we weren’t sure we would have an audience. It anchors us, to have you sit in our space, witnessing our work from a few feet away. You made this performing art a performance.

We’d love to say goodbye to the work with you tonight. One final show!

“This is how magic is done. By hurling yourself into the abyss and discovering it's a feather bed.”

“…We were invited to realize that our breath is a manifestation of life. As if on a journey through the mind, we were guided through a structure of stopping points. Each room in which we paused was a real place to be, a real idea, a real memory, a real emotion. I believe all in attendance would agree with me — we were part of the Collective as the dancers moved, at times so close we could feel their breath on our bodies, their emotions meshing with our own…” -review by for

Closing weekend!

“The overall structure of the event, the audience engagement, the attention to sound, lighting and costuming, video projection, and photography, all in service of your sumptuous, connected, and pure physicality, left me elated!”

-Amanda Sowerby, former Dean of Arts and Humanities, WSU dance professor.

We are very grateful to folks who have helped us produce the show! Meet David:

Girl dad, small business owner, manipulator of electrons, and provider of solutions. If you need an electrician, he’s your guy!

When asked if he’d be able to donate, David responded: “it's stuff I don't see much of but I really like the fact that it's becoming more and more popular. My kids get into their own interpretive dancing as well and I really like to nurture that”.

When I asked him what he’d like written about his business: “A big thanks for people giving me the chance to work on and in their homes and businesses. I'm just grateful is all”

write up of our show. It’s difficult to explain what to expect when you see this thing- it’s the result of moving through this past year. It’s uncharted territory, new for all of us. We are extremely proud of this work, and hope to get to share it with you!
