Although newly built, “The BARN” at MARTIN FARMS naturally takes its place within the surrounding rustic 85 acres which make up the Martin’s farming and ranching home. This 3000 sq.ft. farm structure consists of exterior walls covered in corrugated metal, and interior walls covered with a combination of metal and reclaimed wood. Ceiling fans are suspended from individually constructed trusses, which support our 26 feet high roof. “Lighter” trees, harvested from nearby woods, are the main support poles for “The BARN”. Each “lighter” pole is individual in character, bringing a central rustic theme to the entire barn. The alleyway floor is concrete, and the ‘wing’ floors are wooden. Each bathroom has an area designated as a dressing room (if needed) or as a sitting room. Distressed copper pails and pump-handle faucets add a distinct ‘country’ appeal. Guests may enter “The BARN” through large double barn doors situated at the front and rear of the building. Seating accommodations within “The BARN” range from 150 to 200 guests, depending on choice of tables and set up. Parking is plentiful with the Ceremony Site visible when guests arrive. The Ceremony Site is located approximately 200 feet south of “The BARN” in the hayfield. The wedding ‘altar’ is decorated with a wooden cross, an arch made from trees, branches, and grapevines, and a ‘backdrop’ which consists of a 10-acre pond, the remaining 85 acres of pasture land, and occasionally, cows passing by. The entire BARN site is surrounded by nature, including the Ocala National Forest to the north.
"MARTIN FARMS" in East Marion County, Florida, opened its gates for the hosting of weddings, celebrations, meetings, parties and photo shoots that desire a natural Florida appeal influenced by the farm and ranch surroundings. We feel we offer a TOTALLY UNIQUE VENUE for those TOTALLY UNIQUE OCCASIONS. **MARTIN FARMS" is part of a five- generation working farm legacy which involves cattle and crops as well as land management. Cows roam from green pastures to cypress heads to cow-pens, of which all are a part of the rustic scenery surrounding "The BARN". Every location within the 2-mile radius of “The BARN” has its own appeal, and its own history, including the habitation of the Acuera Indian Tribe dating back to the 1500’s. Every square foot of land carries a historical significance. For photo shoots, no two backdrops are the same.
We offer several Special Event Packages in which we strive to meet the requests of most gatherings, and we are always open for discussion regarding the desires of our Guests.
