...It's rapidly approaching an' It's-a gonna be a Fun, educational event (As usual) -Where one can place a bid & obtain a unique, striking piece of CHAINSAW-created ART for the home (...or perhaps driveway entrance?) -to enjoy for years to come. ..Or, If only just to 'show up' & enjoy all the controlled chaos before or after your killer barbeque...!

Well Folks,
Our 2025 'BURNUING BEAR' Festival & Auction(s) is over till next year. (Sad-but-true...) We would like to thank all who came to visit us here at 'the Corner'. To see everyone enjoying the camaraderie, the fun, the Auctions, & all the festivities (which seem to flourish during these events) gives us the warm fuzzies... -Eh, or it could just be the blankets! >hah!< no, from our extended family to yours, THANKS EVERYONE!
I'm glad I'm able to capture part of it -to 'document'- if you will, all the wonderful carvers who attended this year's event (& past ones), and of course, old friends, new friends, and all the good, hard-working folks who find the time to drop by over the years, (That would be YOU!) -as this event takes its place in 'history'...
I've finished editing the photo's which are from Friday & Saturday. Unfortunately, I couldn't keep going to 'cover' Sunday, so all of you who came out Sunday, so sorry you won't be in any of the pictures... However, If you're like ME, an' meandered over to our big 'fire-pit, an' looked up an' saw this year's 'BURNING BEA- Er, ...'PEGASUS'...?!! ...& went: "Wot-the.."?? like I did, I'm sad to report that this year's 'Burning Bear' is a tribute, a 'totem', - to honor Mrs. Judy McVay who is quite possibly the most prolific commercial chainsaw carver to date; Beloved Mother to three (3) "Cut up's': 'Steve', 'Lynn', and 'Boaz' Backus. (Quite Literally, & 'pun' intended), AND who loved horses, wolves, and yes there ARE a few BEARS in there, too...!

'BURNING BEAR' at the O.C. starts THIS FRIDAY..!
To get here from there, (you know where you are!) -head north to the beach, Passing Aberdeen & driving north on State Route 109. ...As you sail into 'Hogan's Corner [RV service, NAPA auto parts, Pot-shop, '76 & Chevron gas stations, etc.] Do not- I repeat, do NOT- turn LEFT for OCEAN SHORES/Casino, etc. (Well unless U want to, I guess...) -RATHER; Stay on the 109, passing thru Hogan's Corner & follow a 'sweeping right' curve. ...the Road'll straighten out for aprox. 3 mi. ...When you hit the only 'S' curve on S.R. 109 with a 'CITY' ATTACHED TO IT, ('SUNRISE MARKET'-That's it!) --Follow the sound of a gazillion chainsaws (aprox.) an'>Boom!

From awhile back when I was giving the 'Ocean City Market Place' Sign a 'Spiffin'-up', & when I looked up, >Dang< -It was EVENING & I was looking at an awesome sunset..!
So's I takes a picture/packed my paint up/go home/put this together/ -but Ya know, a Camera just can't capture all the color & depth of all these bitchen Sunsets. ( It's one-a those 'you-had-to-be-there' moment.)
This would make a nice postcard maybe, but -not the right size...

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas with good tidings and great Joy. -Or even a 'slightly entertaining' one with 'interesting information' and a perhaps a 'skinny' Flo..! "...GREAT 'Joy'...uh, as in 'Joy' is maybe a relative who's- uh...and 'Flo' is >Awright, awright!< (mental note: fire 'gag' writer...)
ANYhoot, -I know it's rather early to be posting it here, but Mona wanted me to put together February's "BURNING BEAR' event flyer with all the particulars & such, so's she could mail it off to all our out-of-state (& some; 'out-of-mind'-) carvers (judging by some of the unique, breathtaking sculptures they create!) - in a timely manner, & not like- 'three-weeks-before-the-actual-event'- which is my usual speed..! (uh, 'ha-ha...?) *cough*

but HEY! -This IS the annual 'Extravaganza' that kicks off each new year where chainsaw artists from the world over converge in the quaint little hamlet of Ocean City for a weekend of creative fun, merriment, & eh, -maybe a little mischief (you didn't hear it from ME), -and everyone is welcome to come watch them 'carve up a storm' thru the weekend and then, in the end, auction off their individual creations to those folks in attendance who desire to have- shall we say- a Li-i-itle bit more 'different-&-unique' kind of 'Art' in their home than their neighbors got..! (-Unless, of course, their neighbor just HAPPENS to be sitting right next to them at the auction! -which HAS been known to occur from time to time..!)
-But HEY (again!) -I'm getting rather long-winded...
-"All you need to know, is 'all right here below' (Oo,-kinda catchy!)

Boy Today's sure NOT like yesterday was, here on the beach...! I mean, it's STILL 'Nice', just a little 'foggy' & overcast (read; 'Normal')

*Anyhoot* - Today is the LAST DAY of our Annual 'End-of-Summer' "LABOR DAY 'CARVE' & 'Benefit' AUCTION", & we'd be honored to be included as part of your holiday plans as this weekend slowly rolls to a close, & Y'all start to pack-up-ta-head-fer-Home. (...Well, except for Me & my 'Buds' -We LIVE here!)
This is a FREE EVENT & always Fun and enjoyable, with today's Auction starting at 4:00p.
Not only is this our last Event of the Summer, -It's our LAST EVENT OF THE YEAR! (...To perhaps find that Unique gift and/or 'Keepsake' for you or someone Special...)

Well, Good Afternoon, All!

Hope everyone is enjoying this absolutely 'Bitc- uh, 'AWESOME' LABOR DAY Weekend, and we still have One more day to go!

Here's a video 'short' (thankfully!) from Saturday here at
'The Corner', just part of my wandering about the event. I HAD an 'intro', but somehow, it went >bonk< and won't play...!

But NEVER MIND THAT, there's still TODAY! - Don't miss our SUNDAY AUCTION -which kicks off at 4:00p, -but of course, we won't mind at all if you show up early & check out some of the Chainsaw Artist's at work (some of their unique art you'll see will be set out in today's auction). -Also, there's vendors offering hand-crafted jewelry, wall hangings, & more. (Oh, My!)
...and of course our Curio-Shop has all sorts of stuff inside for sale -or to just 'check out'!
Either way, Come on down, over, across, etc. to The OCEAN CITY MARKET PLACE for the last day of this 'always fun', 'Always enjoyable' event.

G'Mornin' Folks,

Hope everyone enjoyed spending part of your Memorial Day Weekend to with us here at 'The Corner'. - Enjoyed havin' ya!
My abode is katty-corner from Sunrise Market, & HERE, - well It's still fresh in MY memory, & -here we are- almost halfway thru June ALREADY.?! (underscored!)
I hadda mark 'Rush' on getting a flyer together for the next event, where we'll be joining the rest of the Nation in celebrating Our Independence Day. Got the 'Ok' from upper management (Ivan & Mona) just last night ...And So, -Here it is !

We kick off Summer here at the Market Place with the Always enjoyable 'FORTH of JULY celebration & Auction, and due to the 4th falling on a Thursday, (what's up with THAT?!) -We will be holding the Auctions on FRIDAY and Saturday (rather than the usual Sunday), cause Y'all probably be bushed, & a-gettin' ready to head home by then... ( or maybe not!,- heck I don't know.
Anyhoot, gotta go, & -as always,
