SEAN THOMAS is on a mission to make Ocala the RHYTHM capital of Florida. Sean is currently heading bucket drumming & steeldrum sessions at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Marion County and is a director of Creative Collective Arts. CCA has been invited by MCA to produce a musical night for the November art exhibit “Converging Community & Culture”. The event is entitled “Poetry & Percussion Jam”, hosted by SeanTMusic at MCA gallery on Tuesday, November 23rd 2021 from 5:30pm. SeanTMusic is the founder of “Poetry & Percussion Jam” and will be performing 2 original compositions specific to this event entitled “Heart & Air Prayer” & “The Converging” and accompanying all the poets on drums & steeldrums while creating a jam session type atmosphere with the audience on percussion instruments. AMIRA is a mother, educator, and spoken word artist. The self-proclaimed fashionista has performed spoken word on numerous stages in Atlanta GA, northern California, and central Florida. In 2019 she performed her signature poem Another Pill to Swallow on the TEDx Ocala stage. The following year she shared her story in a TEDx Ocala talk titled: Your Voice is more than Vocalizations. Amira's tagline sums up her aspiration for a life well lived: Learning is my thing.

RUBY BODDIE straddles the Caribbean and the USA. After a career in labor relations, she turned to poetry on the themes of equity, discovery and personal empowerment. The peace of Ocala, Florida inspired her recent works, many of which she performed with her creative collaborator, Sean Thomas, a US-trained, Trinidad born musician. Ms Boddie's first novella, Mama's Hair, is scheduled for publication in May 2022.
TYLER B. STEARNS is a transgender Florida-based spoken word poet. He enjoys baking and is an avid lover of odd and/or endangered animals. He writes mainly about mental health, q***r culture, and socio-political issues.
