⭐ This summer's Arts For All theatrical intensive is ALMOST FULL! ⭐ Only FIVE spots left for the older students (ages 9-17) and only SEVEN spots left for the younger ones (ages 6-8). Sign up ASAP for an amazing summer!!!

☀️ Ages 6-8: No audition needed.

☀️ Ages 9-17: Join us for placement auditions on Saturday, May 24 (if you didn't already on April 12). Please plan to attend or for your child to attend for the entire 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. time slot. Auditions are for placement only, to determine a student's best fit for a major (acting, dance, music, or art). Role auditions will be held a week into Arts For All. The summer ends with student productions of the play "Property Rites" (July 11-13) and the musical "Beetlejuice Jr." (July 18-20). 🤖👻

Here’s what to prepare for auditions:

🎭 Acting: 60-second prepared or provided monologue
🎼 Music: 30 seconds of a contemporary musical theatre song (bring sheet music)
🩰 Dance: Routine/combination will be taught to students at placement audition
🎨 Art: Any form of artwork created by student

Classes: June 9 – July 20 (no classes July 3-4), Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuition: $600, with a $50 pre-registration fee.

Dive into "The SpongeBob Musical" with Off Book! 🍍📖 Held in Studio A, this free, “no reading required” book club with R.J. Jenkins of the Marion County Literacy Council is a fascinating hour of insights. Take the plunge with us on Saturday, May 10 at 12:30 p.m.

Stephen Hillenburg first created the colorful undersea world of SpongeBob SquarePants and friends as an animated TV series for Nickelodeon in 1999. Its immediate and lasting popularity has inspired half a dozen films, a comic book series, music albums, video games, theme-park rides, and this 2016 stage musical. Come learn more about why SpongeBob has made such a splash!

Almost time to dive in... Join us next Thursday, May 1 before the show on opening night of "The SpongeBob Musical" for Drinks With the Director! 🍍🍹

Hosted by OCT Executive & Artistic Director Greg Thompson, OCT audience favorite Scott Fitzgerald, and the show’s creative team, this lively cocktail hour is a spoiler-free sneak peek at the show you’re just about to see. You’ll meet the directors and designers whose collective creative vision has brought "The SpongeBob Musical" to life, with opportunities for Q&A. Enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres and a private bar with drinks for sale.

Your first chance for a sneak peek at THE SPONGEBOB MUSICAL is this Friday night! 🍍 We are excited and delighted that the City of Ocala has asked OCT to continue one of our favorite springtime traditions, which is performing at intermission of one of the Levitt AMP outdoor concerts. This Friday, April 18, the simply spectacular SpongeBob cast will perform a couple of numbers from the show as the intermission entertainment. The opening band is The Mudds and the headlining artist is blues musician Larry McCray. This is a FREE concert from 6-8 pm. at Webb Field at the Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Complex, 1501 W Silver Springs Blvd. It's going to be an awesome night of jazz and blues, with some under-the-sea blues making a splash in the middle of it. 🎼🐟🎹🦀🎸🐙🎤🐠 Bring your lawn chairs for a fun and casual outdoor concert on a beautiful evening!

We had a great first round of Arts For All placement auditions on Saturday! ☀️ If you've registered and were there, that's all you need to do... if you missed it, your second chance is Saturday, May 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. And if you haven't registered yet, sign up ASAP -- at two months away, we are already pushing 80% full!

Our Arts For All Too class for ages 6-8 is half full and filling fast, so register right away for that one as well. No placement auditions for AFA Too.

Bravo to our cast, crew, and creative team of JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH for an absolutely peachy show! 🍑✨ It was a wonderful weekend of performances with great audiences. A standing ovation to all who brought this delightful youth production to life through their hard work and dedication, and to all whose support made it possible. Founded in 1950, Ocala Civic Theatre is one of the largest community theatres in the state and one of the top 20 community theatres in the country. OCT produces more than 12 fully staged, professional-quality live performances each season and also hosts touring companies. The Theatre is professionally staffed and volunteer-based, serving 65,000 people each season. We also reach more than 700 students ages 4-18 year-round through Education Department after-school classes, summer camps, and youth productions. The mission of Ocala Civic Theatre is to uplift, inspire, and entertain by providing quality theatrical experiences and performing arts education.
