Happy !

To close out this year’s featured murals is “Life Cycle,” painted by Drake Arnold Art () located at Marion Cultural Alliance (23 SW Broadway St, Ocala, FL 34471) in Downtown Ocala.

The concept for this mural was inspired by Arnold’s homestead where he developed a passion for gardening and farming. We also want to highlight “Life Cycle” in honor of the coming Winter Solstice which takes place this year on December 21st.

The Winter Solstice marks the longest night of the year and is still celebrated by many people around the world. It was an important event that guided early farming activities and it indicated the progression of the seasons.

The Winter Solstice and Arnold’s mural are great reminders to relax and reconnect with nature, and as Arnold states, “For too long man has attempted to establish dominion over nature, tragically assuming we are somehow separate from the rest of the earth.”

Happy Winter Solstice and Happy Holidays!
