VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

All Things New Theatre is back at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church with an immersive performance of the Last Supper. on March 24th in the Parish Hall. This will feature a room of four traditional Passover tables for parishioners to sit and pray at, and a tour to the “upper room” to view a live tableau of Jesus and His disciples at His Last Supper. A performance tableau is a live, frozen image of performers representing an event or scene. Perhaps, you’ve seen frozen live tableaus of the Nativity. This will be the perfect way to kick off the Holy Week!

I already have set pieces, costumes, wigs and props; what I’m looking for are volunteers to play Jesus and his twelve disciples (13 roles, preferably men.) No need to memorize lines!

This is very low commitment. We’ll have one rehearsal on Saturday, March 23rd. It won’t be long. On Sunday, I’ll need you from 6:30am-2:30pm. There will be a performance of this after every mass on Sunday, not including Life Teen, for a total of four 20ish minute performances. I will provide breakfast, lunch, and snacks. Students can get service hours for this! I would also need 4 women to help serve as hostesses and tour guides that will show our parishioners examples of a traditional Passover table. It would be very helpful if I could have a couple of women who are bilingual to assist with the Spanish mass.

Please, let me know if you’re interested as soon as you can! Feel free to email me with any questions you may have: [email protected].

Thank you for your time, and God bless!

I don’t know if this counts as a book read. Yes, I finished it from cover to cover, but it’s for journaling during mass and doesn’t have the full Bible in it, so I didn’t read the Bible in a year (sorry, Fr. Mike Schmitz.) Regardless, I recommend all Catholics get an Every Sacred Sunday. If you struggle to pay attention or if you feel like you’re not getting anything from a mass, this book/journal helps you get in the zone. I liked being able to read and annotate things ahead of time so that I could really reflect on what a priest had to share in a homily. I also enjoyed reflecting at the end of each season to see patterns in my faith journey. The only thing I would suggest is that you get this in a darker color. The light cream color can look dirty after a while! I got a dark green one to start Advent next week! (Thank you, .)

Just finished reading God is Able by my parish priest, Father Pat. In it, he recounts events where he was open to God’s calling and had faith that God would find a way; he didn’t always know how, but if God wanted it to happen, it was going to happen.
I know I’ve been aware of some of those events. Reading this inspires me to make myself available to God and do my best to look for those God-given opportunities to act even if I don’t know all the details. God is able. Thank you, Fr. Pat!

Sharing headshots of these phenomenal actors:

1) Meet the lovely and talented Hope. You can catch her playing Miriam, the sister of the title character in production of MOSES. This Christmas, you can catch her in the lead role of Mary in Miracle of Christmas also at Sight & Sound Theatre.
2) Meet Daniel. Apart from slaying as Pharaoh Tuthmoses II in Sight & Sound Theatre’s MOSES, Daniel is also a skilled percussionist. That’s right! He sings like a beauty and drops a beat like a beast!
3) Meet Danny. Danny is in the ensemble of MOSES at Sight & Sound Theatre. He’s also a professional Shakespearean actor, having recently starred as the swoon-worthy Claudio in production of Much Ado About Nothing.
4) Meet Avery. This is a guy who is skilled onstage and backstage. He is currently a part of the technical crew at Sight & Sound Theatre and recently performed in production of I’ll Fly Away. It’s not every day you run into an actor who can rock a banjo!

All Things New Theatre is back with a Lenten Cantata we're producing on April 1st and 2nd. It's called Come Walk With Me by Pepper Choplin, and it will be directed by Rich and Elaine Lovelace. It is the Passion story in which a narrator leads us from scene to scene, retracing Christ's path during His last days in human form. The music is mix of styles that range from classical to Appalachian, bluegrass, and Celtic folk idioms. Last year, I directed The Last Supper tableau in the Parish Hall and wished to once again help our parish of Blessed Trinity get into the reflective spirit of the Holy Week with this meditative walk with Christ.

You all helped make our first production, Story of My Life... a great success, and we could really use your support once again. All of the funds raised from Story of My Life... were donated to Blessed Trinity for renovations of the Parish Hall. I didn't keep a dime. In order to produce this next performance, we need to raise $2500. This would be used for costumes, chair rentals, and programs. I will be donating a percentage of the proceeds of this production to BT, but hope to raise funds for my theatre company so that I can continue this kind of faith-based theatre in Ocala, FL.

Any little bit helps. We hope you can be a part of this experience through donations, attendance, or simply spreading the word.

✨ As we close on one year and prepare for another, we reflect on our past and prepare for our future. 🪞A lot of that preparation looks like making goals and setting boundaries. Some of these goals and boundaries fall into the trifecta of mind, body and spirit.

Rather than just thinking of weight loss goals and “hot girl summer,” 💅🏽consider what it is that truly needs a little more attention. Sometimes in abandoning one area, this causes the rest to be out-of-kilter. ⚖️

Which of the trifecta do you find most challenging to exercise?

1) 🧠Mind (intellectual stimulation like puzzles, podcasts, books, news, conversations with people who are more knowledgeable in a subject than you;)
2) 💪Body (nutrition, rest, and physical activity that stimulates endurance, strength, flexibility, or mobility;)
3) 🕊Spirit (religious practices, meditation, values, moral codes)

Merry Christmas to all!

Tonight, we celebrate the arrival of a Savior in the most miraculous ways. As I reflect on today, I’m humbled and reminded of what incredible things can happen when I say “yes” to God’s plans for me. I thank Mary, our Mother, who showed us all how to follow Christ, and I thank God for this crazy wild ride I’m on, for what He has removed from my life, and what He has brought into it. He is so good.

I know this is a difficult time for many. My heart goes out to you. Please, be kind to one another this season and always. “Love one another.”

Merry Christmas!

x Kiara Feliciano
