We would like to thank the family of Lawrence Wenger for including the Color Decatur County as a memorial recipient of Lawrence’s. Over $1,000 was received in memory of Lawrence for our 80 ft flag pole project.

Lawrence was an amazing man who served the USA in the Navy during World War II. His legacy will live on with this wonderful tribute to our community. 🇺🇸

We manned the DCHS track meet concessions today! What a busy day!!

A HUGE thank you to all that purchased items at the DCHS/CDC concession stands today at the track meet!

The Color Decatur County committee will be manning the Regional Track Meet concessions this Thursday at DCHS.

Come grab something to eat & help support our fundraiser!! This is to help us bring a 🇺🇸, art, vibrancy & tourism to our community. 💚🩷

We will be serving walking tacos, cookies & muffins for extras during the meet, along with the normal comcession stand items. 🌭 🌮 🍪 🥤 🍭 🍫

We have GLUTEN FREE OPTION FOR THE WALKING TACOS!!

Let’s show Ladd & the library board some love with new amazing mural!

This Saturday is the Grand Opening & Open House 10-2.

Another great mural in Oberlin! 👏🏻 👏🏻

We will be having a ribbon cutting this Saturday @ 10 for the Oberlin City Library’s new mural.

We hope you all can attend their Grand Opening & open house.

Did you know that the Color Decatur County is not just about murals?

Our mission is to beautify public spaces, foster community engagement, and tell our local story through curated public art. This committee is focused on enhancing neighborhood aesthetics, promoting our county, providing educational opportunities, and driving economic growth through tourism and increased foot traffic.

We have several projects in the works. I will be posting more information on those projects coming soon.

But today, lets focus on Project #1: 🥁 🥁 🥁

🇺🇸 An 80ft flag pole with a 20ft x 30ft flag. We would love to purchase 2 extra flags to have on hand, as well.

The flag pole system is solar-powered and includes an emergency 12-hour built-in backup. It comes with a 100-watt solar panel, a winch box, and a 12V 55ah AGM battery. All flag components are internal.

The flag will be able to be raised and lowered using an app and manually.

The city has given us permission to put the pole on their property.

🇺🇸 We are currently working on grants & are looking for local donations.

🇺🇸 We would LOVE to have this up for the 250th celebration of the USA but not sure if that will happen. 🤞🏻🤞🏻

The flag will be placed on the city’s property between the old pizza hut building and Napa.

2.) Project will cost approx $50-60,000.
