Well now that the dust has settled and I've had time to think real hard on where everything went wrong. I've came to the conclusion that it's pretty much on me. Even though I've had this race on the same weekend for many years, this year all the stars and moon lined up for the perfect storm. It just turned out a bad weekend for many reasons. Several drivers attended the Knoxville Nationals, several drivers were tore up or broke from Belleville, some were sick or hurt or had an emergency come up and some just needed a break from 3 weekends of hard 2 day weekends prior to this race.
I want to thank all the fans who came as it was a huge crowd for Friday and hope you were at least pleased I cut the admission to $10 as I just couldn't in my heart charge you full admission for the show I was aware was going to be less than you expected. I want to thank all the sponsors who helped out and even though I'll take a financial hit I will return half of your sponsorship money because it's the right thing to do and i appreciate your support. I also want to thank all the Sprint and late model drivers who did show up and I apologize for cutting it short but again just couldn't in my heart put on another poor show in memory of my Dad and I hope you all understand. And thank you to all the people behind the scenes who worked their butts of to make a great race track and man all the stations it takes to put this on. I will think on this awhile as whether ţo continue this event for our little town and track but just know...I don't like giving up !!! Take care everyone and see you around. ❤️❤️
