Sad news at the beginning of this week. We just learned that our friend and bluegrass fan and attendee, Art Sauber, passed away over the weekend. Art was a good man who always had a kind word. We will miss seeing him at the shows and the festival at Van Wert. Prayers to his family and friends.

Sept 24, 25, & 26, 2026. The Van Wert County, OH Fairgrounds is the PLACE TO BE!! It's a little over a month away until the 15th Annual Van Wert County Bluegrass Festival! A weekend of bluegrass music and fellowship is awaiting. Please mark these dates on your calendar. If you are a picker, please bring your instrument and join in the many campsite jams throughout the festival grounds. If you aren't a picker, come watch the stage shows and be an audience for the jammers! We are offering a weekend full of good affordable entertainment. This is a family friendly event. We are sad to tell you of the passing of one of our Tuesday night singers, Jerry Howard. We have known Jerry for many years. He was well known in the area for his fine country singing, his recording studio and store, and the jam sessions he has hosted. We send our sympathy to his children, Karen and Bryan, and the rest of Jerry's family.

It's been a sad time for us at the Bluegrass Opry Barn. Within a week we lost three people very dear to us: Edith Dockery Hendricks, Ricky Spears, and Jerry Howard. Please keep their families in your prayers.
