Growing up in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, folk artist Pam Hults was influenced by parents who loved antiques, art, and architecture and by Pennsylvania German food, culture, and people. With a degree in Art, Pam combines her formal training with hands-on experience to create pieces that, while influenced by historic examples, are original and distinct. She works in a variety of genres--traditional, patriotic, whimsical, and seasonal. Her paper cuttings are a hybrid of scherenschnitte and fraktur, using both watercolor and pen and ink to create them. Her husband John has a workshop next to her home studio where he makes frames and turned items.
