DEADLINE: May 14, 2021. In its second round of grant making, the CALIFORNIA BLACK FREEDOM FUND will prioritize support for grassroots organizations with missions and strategies that focus on mobilizing young people, families and communities to build Black power. This grant round will allow for organizations to increase their capacity to enhance advocacy and organizing efforts.

To be eligible for a grant, organizations must be:

- Focused on combating systemic anti-Black racism and building power in Black communities.
-Based in California and working with Black communities with budgets of $1 million or less.
- Have a 501(c)(3) designation or a fiscal sponsor with a 501(c)(3) designation.

The California Black Freedom Fund is a five-year, $100 million initiative to ensure that Black power-building and movement-based organizations have the sustained investments and resources they need to eradicate systemic and institutional racism.
