"Modder" comes from their families' slang term for "mother." In her grace, 5ive started the Jamaican food pop up in honor of his modder, a chef who spent over 30 years on Crenshaw at Stones Bakery, providing food, sharing Jamaican heritage & love for the community.

Founded in 1953, Lois the Pie Queen is a proudly Black-owned restaurant known for its soul food and homemade pies. For 73 years, the restaurant has served the Bay Area under the same family ownership, building a legacy rooted in community, tradition, and food that warms the soul. As the family restaurant of Babylon co-founder Garrett Stevenson, this project is a tribute to a legacy carried forward through generations.
