01 FAITH AND A SENSE OF TRUTH
“…We all had tears in our eyes.
Why go into an examination of lives, objectives, and the physical actions when we could see life itself in her face?”
Konstantin Stanislavski, 1936
the objective of my creative response is becoming clearer: to build faith and a sense of truth.
GENESIS was urgent. my potential energy - stored beneath the screen - was nudging destruction by way of disillusionment. it was a time of building my self in the only way that I knew: via digital representations of physical reality. virtual realities. a digital rendering of the physical IS a reality. but is it personal? the great inner struggle seeks an outlet in such an external act. i reached out
i now feel that time as pre-history. a time when no external acts had been taken, a time when no sensations had been recorded, a time when a reflective self could not have existed. only after having personal experience - dependent on interpersonal context - can I be accounted for. what soars is: feeling, imagination, situation
“and what is faith” they prayed
truth cannot be separated from belief. and it is through reflection and performance and reflection that faith becomes truth.
I believe that I become me through we
I believe that to feel my body I must feel it in space shared with you
I believe that
feeling becomes imagination becomes creativity becomes truth
so be it
my faith is in ‘the life of a human body’. my truth be told
