We want to take a moment to share with you the impact dNaga has had on our dancers with Parkinson’s. One of the most meaningful parts of this program is the intergenerational community we have created together. The opportunity for young dancers and dancers with Parkinson’s to create, move, and make art together is what makes dNaga so special. There is something profoundly beautiful about watching people from different generations come together with such openness, fragility, beauty, and care for one another.
Our dancers each carry different experiences with Parkinson’s. Some have been living with the diagnosis for over 23 years, while others are only a few years into their journey. No matter where they are in that experience, we have all grown incredibly close through years of dancing, rehearsing, and creating together. Our dancers have discovered a newfound strength in the studio. For us, dance becomes more than movement - it is connection, expression, and a way to reclaim agency over our bodies.
We would love to continue offering our free dance for PD classes along with opportunities like performing at the World Parkinson’s Congress for our dancers.
