I’ve been thinking about why my books are always so fu***ng full. And, I think I finally figured some of it out.
So I read every single consultation form that comes my way. Like, actually read it. I want to know what you’re imagining, why you want it, what you’re excited about, and whether I’m the right artist to make the thing living in your head. And About 99% of them get a big fat thumbs up and go onto my books-open email list.
And then a consultation form comes through that just SCREAMS MY NAME IN HOT PINK NEON. The cartoon heartbeat eyes pop out of my skull. My brain immediately starts designing it. I’m mentally rearranging the composition before I’ve even finished reading the damn email.
Those projects? I don't want to wait for my books to open. I want them. So if you send me an idea that makes my little art goblin brain light up, I will find a place for it. Even if I'm technically booked ten months out.
I might give us a little extra grace on sliding dates around because, holy s**t, that is WAY the f**k in the future, but I would rather have the right project on my calendar, than make it wait for a booking window.
And that's actually why my consultation form stays open even when my books are closed, because I don't know what you're going to send me, and every once in a while, something comes along that I simply cannot keep my hands off of.
So My schedule might be closed. But the door isn't.
Send me the weird idea.
You never know when you're going to make my cartoon heartbeat eyeballs pop out of my skull.
