I don't know where to begin with this tattoo. The gratitude that comes with it is beyond words. Getting to be someone's chosen artist in a world of talented people is an incredible honor. Having to stop tattooing because you're both laughing too hard is a beautiful rarity. And, as an artist, being proud of your own art can be hard to come by; not with this piece. It's as vibrant as the lady I had the privilege of tattooing it on.

My kid is so funny and somehow so wise. Maybe we're all born that way, and we forget. Idk. But anyway, one of the children's songs she listens to is about pronunciation, specifically different ways to say tomato. She took it to heart. Anytime I speak out loud about feeling as though I messed up on something or it didn't turn out how I wanted, she pipes up, "Don't worry, Mama. Remember tomAto, tomAHto..what's the difference?" It's like she already knows that the secret to a new mindset is just a change in perspective.
