Saturday, November 18 is your last chance to see the current exhibition at StopWatch Gallery & Studio, "The Printmakers Left: The Catalog of the Radically Useless and the Usefully Radical". Since the Greensburg Holiday Parade is taking place tomorrow as well, the gallery will open earlier than usual - we will open at 10 am, and be open through the end of the parade. If you want to see the show and skip the parade, come between 10 and 2. Streets close at 2 for the parade. If you come into town for the parade, come check out the show! We're on the parade route, so you can have a front row seat for the holiday festivities as well as seeing a really interesting show.

Thank you to everyone who came to the opening last night! It’s a The Printmakers Left tradition to type receipts on a manual typewriter - here’s Dean Dass completing the purchase of a TPL publication. Come on in during gallery hours next week, and check it all out!

Here’s the storefront of the StopWatch Gallery & Studio, which hints at the wonders to be found in the exhibition that opens tonight from 6 - 9 pm, "The Printmakers Left: The Catalog of the Radically Useless and the Usefully Radical".

And here’s an eccentric solution to storing an automobile.

You can find both these things in downtown Greensburg. You should be here tonight!

I’m up to my ears in amazing art, installing "The Printmakers Left: The Catalog of the Radically Useless and the Usefully Radical". Each time this work is shown, pieces are added and changed, new combinations are discovered . . . I love the hint of a sun dial here. . .

I hope to see all y’all in the gallery Saturday night!

The Printmakers Left is a collaborative team of artists, architects, writers, scholars and poets who have worked together for over twenty years on a variety of exhibitions, installations, portfolios and books. The group, ever evolving, is composed of University of Virginia faculty, alumni, visiting artists and friends. The colophon in each volume lists all participants.

The nature of The Printmakers Left is to work collaboratively. After a theme or project is decided upon, often a lengthy procedure, the artists begin to talk and send things to each other to work on. Ideas are shared and developed by working together. As much as possible members gather in ateliers to work together. Individual artists often complete their own works within the overall group dynamic. In this way we hope to inspire each other. Often a box of works in progress travels among the various members of the group, each contributing to this growing and evolving collection. We are simply willing to work this way as gradually a structure emerges organically. Two or three or more artists have worked together on many of the book pages. Likewise, the collation of the materials and the editorial process itself is collaborative.

You can see some of The Printmakers Left's publications, and purchase them for your own collection, at this year's Codex Book Fair, coming up April 10 - 13 in Richmond, California. Information about Codex can be found here: https://www.codexfoundation.org/codex-2022
